Richard Daley, President of the Chicago Board of Education
Mary Richardson-Lowry, Acting Chief Executive Officer
of Chicago Public Schools Terry Mazany, Payton College
Preparatory High School Acting Principal Hermes as well as
representatives of the school staff and students’ parents. The

he beginning of a brand new year saw a signifi-
cant visit.
“The young generations carry the future of
their respective nations and their shared world.
The prospect of China-U.S. relations depends
ultimately on the youth of both countries,” said Chinese
President Hu Jintao while visiting Walter Payton College
Preparatory High School in Chicago during his state visit
to the United States. He reached out to the U.S. youth and
