杜维明简介：
杜维明，北京大学高等人文研究院院长，
哈佛大学研究教授。现为美国人文科学院院士，
国际哲学研究院名誉院士，并曾应前联合国秘
书长科菲·安南的邀请参加为推动文明对话而
组建的“世界知名人士小组”。杜维明教授长期
致力于阐释儒家经典，同时以世界文化多元发
展的眼光审视儒家传统，力图通过对传统的创
造性转化复兴中国文化。
杜维明教授曾于 1967 至 1981 年期
间，在美国普林斯顿大学和加州大学伯克利分
校讲授中国思想史、中国哲学和儒家人文主义。
1981 年回哈佛大学任教，后担任东亚系主任，
1996年至2008年期间担任哈佛燕京学社社长。
Profile of TuWei-ming
TuWei-ming is Director of the Institute for Advanced Hu-
manistic Studies at Peking University and Research Professor
at Harvard University. He is also amember of the International
Institute of Philosophy and a fellowof the American Academy
of Arts and Sciences. He was appointed by former UN Secre-
tary General Kofi Annan as amember of the United Nations'
"Group of Eminent Persons" to facilitate the "Dialogue among
Civilizations". Professor TuWei-ming has long devoted himself
to expounding Confucian classics, examining the Confucian
traditions through the lenses of pluralistic development of
the world’s cultures. He has worked diligently to contribute
to the revival of Chinese culture through creative transforma-
tions of traditions.
From1967-1981, Professor TuWei-ming taught the His-
tory of Chinese Thought, Chinese Philosophy and Confucian
Humanismat Princeton University and the University of
California, Berkeley. In 1981, he returned to Harvard to teach,
later became Chair of the Department of East Asian Languag-
es and Civilization. From1996-2008, he was Director of the
Harvard-Yenching Institute.
