每年农历五月初五，是中国传
统节日端午节。这本是一个驱
除瘟疫的节日，后来因为战国时期著名诗人屈
原在这一天投江殉国，就变成了百姓纪念屈原
的节日。相传百姓为了不让江里的鱼虾咬食他
的尸体，就用粽叶包裹好糯米和馅料做成粽子
投入江中来喂鱼虾。于是在这一天吃粽子成为
了端午节的一项习俗。
作为中国重要的传统节日之一。端午节有
着 2500 多年的历史，蕴含着人们驱病辟邪、
祈求安康的美好祝愿。粽子可以根据每个人的
口味放入不同的馅料。公历 6 月 6 日就是今年
的端午节了。跟着我们，自己动手，一起包出

HANDICRAFT WORKSHOP
The traditional Chinese Dragon Boat Festival is held annually on
May 5 of the lunar calendar. It was originally a holiday celebrating
getting rid of the plague, but later became a festival commemorat-
ing Qu Yuan because this famous poet in the Warring States Period
(402-220 BC) drowned himself in a river in grief for the country on
this day. According to legend, people made zongzi by wrapping
glutinous rice and other ingredients with bamboo leaves and threw
them into the river to feed the fish so that they would not eat the
poet’s body. Then it became a custom to eat zongzi during the
Dragon Boat Festival.
As one of the important traditional Chinese festivals, it has a
history of over 2,500 years. It embodies the wish for happiness and
health, eliminating pestilence and driving off evil spirits. Zongzi is
flavored with different ingredients according to various tastes. June
6 on the Gregorian calendar is the Dragon Boat Festival for this year.
