4 月 26 日，英国首相大卫 · 卡梅伦访问了英国 SSAT 新线学院孔子课堂，
接见了学校教职员工和学生代表，并向中文部主任杜宏霞女士详细了解了孔
子课堂开展汉语教学的情况 。
当天，卡梅伦与教职员工和学生进行了亲切交谈。当杜宏霞主任对卡梅
伦首相说“你好”的时候，首相也兴致勃勃地用流利的中文回答说“你好 ”。
卡梅伦还与学生们进行了亲切互动，关切地问起学生们毕业以后想做什么工
作。卡梅伦的平易近人和亲和力给学生们留下了深刻印象。
新线学院校长盖 · 赫威特说 ：“卡梅伦首相抽出时间访问我校，与年轻学
生和教职员工深入交谈、亲切握手甚至互相击掌，这件事令大家终生难忘，
将永远伴随着年轻人未来的日子，并激励他们前进 。
新线学院孔子课堂正式成立于 2010 年，在孔子学院总部和英国 SSAT 专
长学校联合会的大力支持下，发展迅速，成为肯特郡有着广泛影响力的中文
教学中心。该校提供的中文课程覆盖了从幼儿园学前班直至高中毕业班的所
有年级，并且已经正式列入七年级和八年级教学大纲必修课程。其辐射的周
边学校多达九所，这些辐射学校都开设了中文语言兴趣班，学生既能学到中
文知识，也能学到中国文化。该校还于今年 3 月成立了周末中文学校，为社
会各界中文爱好者提供系统的中文课程 。目前该校的小学部正在紧锣密鼓地
建设中，届时该小学部将突出中文教学和珠算的特色，进一步完善其中文教
学资源，从而实现成为全英最大的中文教学基地的目标。 ( 唐兴供稿 )
O n April 26, British Prime Min-
ister David Cameron visited
the SSAT Confucius Class-
room at New Line Learning
Academy, where he met with
faculty and student representatives and talked
with Ms. Du Hongxia, Director, Chinese De-
partment, about Chinese education at the Con-
fucius Classroom.
When Ms. Du greeted the prime minister
with “ 你好 ,” he responded with f luent Chi-
nese “ 你好 ” (hello). He also chatted with the
students, asking them what they wanted to do
after graduation. The prime minister was so
amiable and approachable that the students
were deeply impressed.
The New Line Learning Academy director
Guy Hewitt said that it was unforgettable that
the prime minister visited the academy, talked
with students and teachers, and even “high-fived”
the students and has inspired them to study
harder.
The Confucius Classroom at the New Line
Learning Academy was established in 2010 with
the joint support from the Confucius Institute
Headquarters and the Specialist Schools and
Academies Trust (SSAT). It has made rapid
progress and become an inf luential Chinese
educational center in Kent. The Chinese courses
it provides -- kindergarten through high school
-- are compulsive in the Grade 7 and 8 curricula.
It also has inf luenced the nine surrounding
schools, all of which have launched Chinese
language interest classes to teach students Chi-
nese language and culture. In March this year,
the academy also set up a weekend Chinese
language school providing systematic Chinese
courses for Chinese learners from all sectors of
society. The primary school section under the
academy is in the process of preparation and,
when opened, will feature Chinese education
and abacus calculation. It is expected to further
improve the Chinese teaching resources and
become the largest Chinese education base in
Great Britain.
